Hot Diggity Dogs is quaint hot dog "shack" off of Griffin Road. Mostly outdoor picnic table seating with some bar stools inside. I've been a loyal customer to this hot dog since I can remember eating my first dog hear nearly twenty years ago. It's been run by the same amazingly friendly family since I could remember. All the food on the menu is made to order and damn delicious but do yourself a favor and get the Chicago Dog. Hell, get three of 'em! You won't eat a hot dog from any other establishment in Florida again. This place is cheap, quick and delicious. Don't pass on the waffle fries either! CASH ONLY!

This place is my guilty pleasure. A Chicago style dog and some fries from the Diggity. Staff is always gracious. Fries are cooked to order because they are always super hot. The Italian Beef is stacked. Many versions of hot-dogs, sandwiches, sides. Malt-vinegar, for the awesome fries, and good hot sauce on the condiment stand. Call ahead and pick-up at the drive thru window. If this place ever shuts down I'm leaving Ft. Lauderdale!

New York or Chicago style... Either way this hot dog stand is a classic landmark.

Steamed buns, juicy dogs and crispy waffle fries. Only thing stopping a 5 star review is that it's cash only.

New York hot dog yumm. This place is really good. The people are very nice and friendly. Just wish they were open later.

Never had ordered the cheeseburger as it's $5.75 and I am cheap, but it was well worth it. Seemed to be hand-formed and was well-charred without being dry. Waffle fries were seasoned, not my style, but I know people love them. The girls are all friendly and enthusiastic, and it's a treat to eat outdoors at the picnic tables on a warm winter day.

This is a great value. The best cheesburger I have ever had! Charcoal grilled and hot. Fries are also excellent and prices are very good. Not fancy- outdoor seating and sometimes a wait but well worth it. Great cheesburgers (sirloin angus), Hotdogs (use either Sabretts or Vienna beef- you can have real chicago or NY Style), grilled chick breast sand, also have Odouls. Nice fries, onion rings, and potato pancakes. Serve breakfast and lunch only, and has frozen bannanas for desert. Limited parking, but have a drive thru- recommended to call ahead w/ big orders. VERY close to FLL.

Customer service is perfect!! I placed my order and reached for my debit card to pay - They don't take cash. The lady at the register (I assume the owner) offered to give me a chili dog and a drink for free. I couldn't believe it! She said, "I don't want you running around getting cash in this rain and you already drove here for lunch." Of course I went to get cash anyway, but I was completely taken aback by her generosity. Truly amazing. I ended up getting the fish basket and the chili dog because I wanted fish but couldn't leave without a dog (given the name of the place). Both were absolutely delicious and the waffle fries were amazing as well. The whole experience was great and I will be a repeat customer!

Such a diamond in the rough. This is a cute family owned old fashioned hot dog stand. The food is comforting and delish! I had the New York dog and my husband had the Chicago dog both cooked perfectly and priced super cheap. To be honest if I let myself eat 2 I could. I'm looking forward to trying their wings. Now be prepared this is a no frills eating experience. No indoor seating, no air, no credit cards but a really great lunch and super fun.

This is a quintessential old-school mom & pop style hot dog snack bar. I had the philly cheese steak and it tasted great. It tasted fresh, clean, and hot. By clean I mean that it was not overly greasy. The seasoned waffle fries were hot and crispy. Since it is a mom & pop type of place it has certain charms that get lost in most chain restaurants. There is very limited inside seating so you will probably sit outside at the coveted picnic tables. This works fine for the South Florida weather. Also, this place is CASH ONLY. The hours are from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, so get there early. The staff are attentive and pleasant. This is a great place to take your family after a day at the beach!

Loved that we had the chance to stop here on our way to play golf. The hot dogs were super tasty and had the perfect pairing bread, also the waffle fries were delicious crunchy and made to order! Great service, nice ambience in this little spot down the road, coming back for sure to try some more stuff!

A few of us went with our kids yesterday for the first time and we had a great experience. The food was very good. The kids had hot dogs and hamburgers and I had a chicken sandwich with mushrooms. The kids scarfed down their meals which isn't usual. I was surprised at how good my chicken sandwich was considering it's a hot dog place. The sweet lady who took our order made sure we had plenty of sides and even threw in some potato pancakes on the house just because I asked about them. They couldn't have been any more hospitable. And as an extra added bonus, there was live music- a man and his blues guitar. Great place! We will be back!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! What will win my heart over EVERY time is customer service....and this place goes beyond delivering excellent customer service. They make you feel like family! And I say this after my first (but definitely not my last) visit here. Was the food good...yes, definitely. But eating and dining out is not JUST about the food, it's about the entire experience. We went today (a Thursday) just shortly after 2PM and they had live entertainment outside (a gentleman playing a guitar). We (me and four kids) were immediately greeted & welcomed upon entering (even though the woman at the register was already busy helping other customers). She was very patient with my kids and nieces as they placed their own orders (not annoyed with me or them because I empower them to order for themselves. Sometimes I get the "stank eye" when I let my kids order for themselves). She was extremely friendly with them. After placing our order and finding seating outside in this beautiful South Florida weather, she came out twice to check on us and explained to us that it will be only a few more minutes as the food was being cooked to order. In reality, we did not have to wait long at all, but I did appreciate the attentiveness to our needs as customers (no matter our ages). The food runners were also very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. They didn't just drop the food off and disappear before you "bother them" with a request for anything additional. After receiving two thumbs up from each of the kids on their food and feeling so welcomed here at this restaurant, there was no question in my mind that we will soon be back. The "icing on the cake" was when right before we were leaving, the same woman who had been helping us all along (I regret not introducing myself personally and learning her name) invited all the kids in to pick out cookies or frozen popsicles on the house! :) I will be sure to visit again and tell friends & family to support small businesses such as this one.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. I saw that they serve Italian Beef, and being from Chicago where Italian Beef was created - I had to try it for myself. I was not disappointed. The sandwich was delicious! It definitely tasted very authentic. The onion rings, as well as my friend's fish and chips, were also very good. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the place was busy and that they even had a live singer and guitarist at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Service was above and beyond friendly and helpful. Very good vibe here and great food! I'll be back to try their hot dogs and of course more Italian Beef! Most seating is outdoors, they do have a drive thru, and only accept cash. Check it out!

Good little mom and pop food joint obviously their specialty is hot dogs .. but also have good burgers and beef sandwiches .. my only gripe is they are cash only ..... i would eat here a few days of the week .. but since I rarely have cash on me I don't .. but food is very good and the staff is extremely friendly and nice .. and prices are good too

I forgot I had been here years ago when I first moved to Florida. Hubby took me here and I remember really enjoying it. They also have a nice outdoor patio that is covered if you want to eat there; plenty of picnic tables to choose from, and we felt like we were having a picnic. The staff at Hot Diggity is friendly and they hustle to to get you your food fast. The drive-thru is convenient and you can give your order face to face then watch them make your food as you wait. The place has a lot of positive energy, if that makes any sense. As for my recent visits, I tried the chili cheese dog on the first visit. It was ready in 60 seconds, and I was on my way. I was thinking that it was small yet tasty, but I should have gotten a side, or another dog to eat also. My second visit I got a Chicago dog and this time I got the small onion rings to go with it. I think that did the trick. I was surprised at how many rings came with the small order. I couldn't finish them all. As far as the quality of the food goes, this place is 3 stars in my opinion. The buns fall apart pretty easily and the hot dog doesn't quite stretch to the full length of the bun, as you work your way across you wind up with no meat at the end. The taste overall was pretty good though. I would like to try some other things on the menu to make this a solid 4 star recommendation. They have other items on their menu that I would like to try. My fellow Chicago Yelpers say their Chicago Beefs are the best, so I may try one of those next time. I'll be returning!

I finally tried the place out. I'm not a huge hot dog fan of the typical variety but per the photos and reviews I saw I figured this was not your average hot dog joint. Not to mention it was raining the day I visited and they have a drive thru (brownie points). The menu had a impressive amount of cleverly named hot dog selections with any combination of toppings you could fathom. I got the dog with grilled onions and bacon - clearly a combination that cant go wrong. The results: DELICIOUSNESS! The hot dogs are quality all beef and delicious and the staff are friendly and happy to give suggestions.

I have literally been coming here my entire life. My mother would walk to get hot dogs from hot diggity when she was pregnant with me! They have been around so long they're apart of my family history! If I am ever sentenced to death I will request their waffle fries as my last meal!

One of my favorites. Their Chicago dog is awesome, paired with seasoned waffle fries. I also would recommend trying their cheese steak and good ole cheese burger! I also love the atmosphere. The entertainer who sings and play guitar on lunch time is a great addition to the whole experience. I feel like I'm in the keys when I go there. Best part is their staff. Wonderful and very nice people. Thank you for keeping the place rockin!

This place is cash only. Usually I throughly do my yelp homework and would have known that but me and my girlfriend were just down the street and starving so I didn't read any reviews. Needless to say, we never carry cash and got in line to order. After realizing we couldn't pay, the owner offered us two hotdogs anyways. This gesture wasn't necessary and something you wouldn't hear at most places but was greatly appreciated. Everyone around us enjoyed their food and we did too. We will definitely be back and we live 30 mins away

Wow this place is good. I have family in Chicago and Wisconsin and this place has the best Vienna hot dog and italian beef I have had outside of those places. The wife got the Philly and it was better than pat and genos, no lie. I didn't expect much after trying out hotdog heaven and being disappointed. Will be back

This place is awesome. The wings are juicy & full of life! I normally do KFC after dumping PoPeYeS, and I tried Mineos wings (also on Griffin Rd.) This place takes first prize, they just need parking

Italian Beef, Chicago Dogs what more can I say! The smell...ahhh...very nice people, you order the food and pay, then they bring it out to you. They also serve soda/Pop in cans and encourage you to recycle the can.

I have had Chicago style hotdogs before in my life but they never really did it for me. My dad told me about this place and insisted that I go. I grab my mom and take her (her being from Chicago originally) since she also was told to go. We get there and order 2 Chicago style hotdogs, a medium fry (which is prob considered an x large anywhere else), roast beef type sandwich, and 2 drinks... Oh my gosh!!! Perfection. I fell in love instantly, my mom said it was exactly how it was suppose to be. The price made it even better! You could easily feed 3 people comfortable for 20-25 bucks. Deff. one of my most favorite places now to eat. !!!!!!THEY ARE CASH ONLY!!!!!!

I have been coming here since 1992 when I was just a kid. To this day, they still know my name when I walk in, even if it has been a few months. The restaurant may be small, but there is ample outdoor seating, and as of recently, a great singer/guitarist that entertains. The food is great. The hot dog is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with their hamburgers either. The waffle fries are incredible. Most of the people working there have been there for at least a decade. It's a great restaurant, and they really go out of their way to show you how much they appreciate the business.

I was taking scuba lessons down the street and I found this gem on Yelp. I had the best hot dog and cheeseburger I've had in a while. They even had outside entertainment. The food took a while to come out but was well worth it. Please note this is cash only!

Being from Chicago we were really hoping to love this place but sadly it fell short of our hopes . The Chicago style hot dog gets a star all on it's own, but but the Italian beef sandwich was disappointing. I ordered it extra dipped and the brought it very completely dry with a little cup of the au jus on the side. The flavor doesn't just hit the mark when you know how it's really suppose to taste.

I really do like this place. I tried another hot dogs place near by a while ago but that turned out to be very disappointing. I like the friendly atmosphere and the food tasted pretty good too. Nice outdoor seating area and I do see a lot of people picked up their orders in drive thru.

I don't even like hot dogs, but Hot Diggity won me over. The staff was beyond friendly and genuine. They went the extra mile to make people feel at home. We ordered one Polish and one Italian. Both were filling and just hit the spot. The waffle fries are spot on. This is a small place, and it's best to just sit out at the picnic tables and enjoy a super-casual meal. Feels like you're at the beach.

Great Hot Dogs, Italian Sausages and other "comfort foods". What's even GREATER is the owner and staff. They are as nice as can be. Leave a tip and the owner rings the bell. Love going for lunch after a not so stellar morning at the office.

  • Stephanie S.

This place is amazing! I'm not a huge fan of hot dogs, but show me a place that sells hotdogs in a hot dog shaped building and I just gotta give it a try. Plus it was walking distance from my old place down south. The owners are incredibly nice and make it a point to have you leave with a smile. The outdoor picnic seating is a good addition for those beautiful sunny days. The Chicago dog is by far my favorite but I sometimes just let the owner tell me her favorite and order that. Have yet to have a bad experience ;)

I had been having an urge for a Chicago style hot dog and Italian beef sandwich so I decided to give this place a try. It was a long trek from West Kendall to this little spot in Fort Lauderdale, but it was well worth the trip. As others have noted this is a more of a food stand with a few stools and counter on the inside and some covered picnic tables on the outside. Besides my hot dog and beef sandwich I also split some onion rings with my son-in-law who enjoys a good Chicago dog when the opportunity arises. The hot dog was spot on with a Vienna beef frank on a poppy seed roll, dragged through the garden. Delicious. The Italian beef sandwich was also great with thinly sliced tender beef on a fresh hoagie roll topped with a nice blend of roasted peppers. I was also given a little cup of au jus to dip the sandwich in which was tasty and full of flavor. The onion rings were piping hot thick rings that were prepared perfectly. No oily, greasy taste at all. They have a wide selection of soft drinks to choose from, including one of my favorites, Dr. Browns. Their prices are very fair and the staff are extremely warm and friendly. As a bonus there was a singer/guitarist playing some nice tunes outside while we enjoyed our food. Overall I couldn't have been any more pleased or happy with my experience here.

very inexpensive. They are a glorified hot dog stand, with very little seating inside and picnic tables outside. The seasoned fries were awesome. I did not order a hot dog but I will definitely be coming back to try one. I got the fried fish. It was a nice portion of white fish and wasn't greasy. Their tartar sauce was tasty and not watered down. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. ITS CASH ONLY!!!!

The fact that today was Friday was made so much better when I decided to ask the intern to deliver some delicious food from here on her way to the office... She brought me a turkey-bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich that literally melted in my mouth! This was my first time doing the breakfast thing here, as I have lunched around these parts many times. It was a home-run! I am thinking about going back for lunch to enjoy my favorite lunch treat, the SPO (Sausage, Pepper & Onion!). Made on a fresh baked hoagie roll, this is a crowd pleaser!. Enjoy, and tell Rosina And Jack that Steve sent ya!

Hot Diggity Dogs hardly qualifies as more than a roadside stand specializing in hot dogs, though they also have a rather extensive sandwich and burger menu. As if by magic they are able to pump this food out from a smaller than closet sized kitchen, and it is all rather tasty though nothing particularly special. As is typical to the South Florida area, their hot dog as well as various other specialties are "Chicago Style." Why Chicago as opposed to Texas, Cincinnati, West Virginia or etc. is anybodies guess. All I know is that all of the typical Texas Style dog places are out of business and, seemingly, only the Chicago remains, of which Hot Diggity is one of them. Their Chicago Style dogs are pretty good, mostly boiled dogs with pickle, onion, tomato, neon relish, onion, celery salt and hot pepper. They have sort of a nice outside, gravel based patio for leisurely hot dog dinning and their service is polite and prompt. It really makes a good fun place to stop, especially after spending a day at Bass Pro Shop or the other area attractions, though I haven't found their dogs to be equal to those of Hot Dog Heaven on Sunrise or Big City on Commercial.

One of those Brilliant little Dive's you find off a popular road in south Florida. Ive tried several things off they're menu but im my opinion, the Phillie Cheese Steak is they're bread & butter. I always recommend this little stop to everyone in the area!

We stopped here while on vacation its a little hole in the wall might not think much of it by the way it looks. But all their food taste great the customer service is on point as well, and the owner is so sweet she suggested places to go in the area and gave us some free dessert! will be stopping by each time we are in town!

Great onion rings and two incredible hot dogs served just how I wanted them. Nothing short of incredible. The cheesecake on a stick will give you a heart attack, but it's worth it.

Hot Diggity Dogs is the definition of hole in the wall. The kitchen is the size of a closet, the "drive-thru" is this sketchy-looking window directly into the kitchen, and you dine outdoors on picnic tables. Before you turn your nose up, know that all of those quirks are part of its charm. The staff is a friendly group of ladies who really make you feel at home, offering suggestions for your order and bringing the food out to your table. This place serves a wide variety of food at pretty reasonable prices. They have a lot of Chicago specials (Italian beef, Chicago-style dogs, etc.) on the menu, which what brought us here. Italian beef sandwich was good, not up to Chicago quality, but as good as it gets out of state. I've also had the Philly cheesesteak, which was pretty good, nice and cheesy and thinly chopped beef. But, I really love the fries here - crispy and always freshly made. Order some - the small is more than enough to share. The onion rings are excellent as well, and I usually hate onion rings. Mmm, beer battered! If you come here, don't expect fine dining, just a lot of burgers, hot dogs, and other types of sandwiches and sides, all done right. Here's a tip: call ahead for little to no wait, and skip the "drive thru" (lest you cause a traffic jam in the postage-stamp-sized parking lot...if you go, you'll see what I mean). Check this place out if you're looking for good food in a no-frills, down-home atmosphere.

Yay!!! It's Tuesday!!! That means Diggity Dogs is open for business!!! I have been craving a grilled chicken sandwich from there since Saturday night.... Yum, with lettuce, tomato, onions, and spicy brown mustard. I'm heading there now. Mention this to Rosina(the sweet lady @ the register), and get a free drink!! :)

I was driving around today and craving a hot dog... so I decided to try somewhere new. I almost past this place because it was small. I tried to Chicago style hot dog with everything and it was so delicious and even better just $3! The staff is very friendly. As others have said, its small but there is a counter to eat insid, limited outdoor seating and a drive thru.
